We're pretty serious about keeping your info safe

Look, we get it - nobody really enjoys reading these things. But here's the deal: at Mythrun Odyssey, we take your privacy as seriously as we take restoring a '67 Porsche. You trust us with your vehicles, and we want you to trust us with your information too.
This policy lays out what info we collect when you work with us, why we need it, and how we keep it locked down tighter than a properly torqued head bolt. We're not gonna sell your data or do anything sketchy - that's not how we roll.
When you bring your car in or reach out to us, we'll need the basics: your name, phone number, email, and address. Pretty standard stuff - can't really call you back about your BMW's transmission without a phone number, right?
We also keep records of our conversations and service requests so we don't have to ask you the same questions every single time you come in.
We'll collect details about your ride - make, model, year, VIN, mileage, service history, and any modifications you've done. This isn't us being nosy; it's so we can properly diagnose issues and keep track of what work's been done.
Sometimes we'll take photos of your vehicle before, during, and after work. Helps with documentation and honestly, some of these restorations are just too beautiful not to capture.
Yeah, we need payment info - but we don't actually store your full credit card details on our systems. That stuff goes through our payment processor who's certified and all that jazz.
We do keep invoices and payment history for accounting purposes and warranty claims. Canadian tax folks kinda require that from us.
If you're browsing our website, we collect the usual tech stuff - IP address, browser type, pages you visit, how long you hang around. Nothing creepy, just helps us understand what parts of the site people actually use.
We use cookies too (the digital kind, not the ones we have in the waiting room). More on that below.
We're not collecting data for the fun of it. Here's what we actually do with your info:
We're not in the business of selling your info. But yeah, sometimes we need to share it with others to get the job done:
When we're ordering parts for your specific vehicle, we need to share your VIN and vehicle details. They don't get your personal contact info though.
Credit card transactions go through secure third-party processors. They're PCI compliant and all that technical security stuff.
If you're filing a claim for collision repair or other covered work, we'll share relevant service records and estimates with your insurance provider.
If law enforcement or regulators come knocking with proper legal documents, we've gotta comply. Hasn't happened yet, but you should know.
We take data security seriously - like, change-your-oil-every-5000km seriously. Here's what we've got in place:
All digital records are encrypted and stored on secure servers with restricted access.
Only staff who need access to do their jobs can see your info. No peeking allowed.
When we don't need records anymore, we shred paper docs and securely wipe digital files.
That said, no system's 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what steps to take.
Yeah, we use cookies on our website. Not gonna lie about it. Here's what they do:
Most browsers let you control cookies pretty easily. Just know that blocking all cookies might make some parts of the site wonky.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA specifically), you've got some rights when it comes to your personal info:
You can ask to see what info we've got on you. We'll get it to you within 30 days, usually sooner.
If something's wrong in your records, let us know and we'll fix it. Wrong phone number? Old address? We'll update it.
Don't want marketing emails anymore? Easy - just click unsubscribe or tell us. We can't delete service records though (legal requirements and all).
After we're legally allowed to (usually 7 years for business records in Canada), we can delete your info if you want.
If you think we're handling your data wrong, you can complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We'd rather you talk to us first though so we can make it right.
We don't keep stuff forever, but we can't delete everything immediately either. Here's the breakdown:
| Type of Data | Retention Period | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Service Records | 7 years | Canadian business law requirement |
| Financial Records | 7 years | Tax purposes, CRA requirements |
| Marketing Consent | Until you opt out | Active customer engagement |
| Vehicle Photos | 2-5 years | Portfolio & warranty documentation |
| Website Analytics | 26 months | Industry standard for useful trends |
After these periods, we securely delete or anonymize the data so it can't be traced back to you.
We follow all relevant Canadian privacy laws and automotive industry regulations. Here's what applies to us:
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act - the main federal privacy law for businesses in Canada.
We comply with British Columbia's provincial privacy regulations for businesses operating in the province.
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation - we only send marketing emails to people who've given us explicit consent.
We follow best practices from automotive industry associations for handling customer and vehicle data.
